Northwest Missouri State football rebounded in a big way Saturday with a 56-9 Homecoming win over Lincoln.

The Bearcats (7-1) reeled off 35 straight points, including 28 in the second quarter alone, to take a commanding lead over the Blue Tigers into halftime.

Northwest tacked on three more scores in the second half to complete the rout of Lincoln.

The Bearcat defense didn't surrender a score in the game – the Blue Tigers only points came on an interception returned for a touchdown and a safety in the third quarter.

The defensive unit also finished with three sacks, and held Lincoln's strong rushing attack to just 107 yards.

The Don Black Award for Northwest Homecoming MVP went to quarterback Braden Wright. He recorded 307 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns in the win.

Northwest is home again next week against Northeastern State. Game time is 1:30pm.
